England star suggests he is trying to convince Harry Kane to join Man United
Luke Shaw has admitted that he has been speaking in glowing terms about Manchester United to Harry Kane in the hope that he can persuade the Tottenham man to move to Old Trafford.
Several clubs, including Man Utd (Daily Star) have been credited with an interest in Kane this summer but the noises coming out of Tottenham over the last week seem to suggest that the striker will stay put.
Journalist Ben Jacobs told The United Stand at the start of last week that Daniel Levy could force the centre-forward to stay at the club for one more year in the hope that he might fall in love with Ange Postecoglou’s management.
90 min subsequently claimed a couple of days later that Tottenham have already informed Kane’s entourage that he will not be sold this summer.
Meanwhile, recent reports have also poured cold water on Man United’s pursuit of the Spurs star, with The Guardian claiming on June 14 that the Red Devils had ended their interest in the England captain.
Luke Shaw jokes about asking Kane to join Man Utd
Some eyebrows were raised when Shaw recently shared pictures of himself with Kane and Rice at the United HQ with the caption ‘Carrington tour’ on social media.

The left-back has now said that while he was half-joking with the post, he admitted that he has been trying to convince the pair to make the move up north to United.
When asked about the speculation over the futures of Kane and Rice, Shaw told The Daily Mail: “I would love a few of them to join United.
“I am speaking to them, telling them how good Manchester is because I know their qualities. I know they are world-class and they would be a massive help to us but I can only say so much.
“It is up to the club and whatever they decide so we have to go from there. My post was half-joking. I don’t know what is going on at their clubs but if it was down to me, I would take them in a heartbeat.”

Kane understandably appears to be quite calm about the whole situation as he will be able to pick where he wants to go next summer if he does not sign a new contract at Tottenham.
If Levy is willing to allow the striker to run into the final year of his deal, the 29-year-old will be happy to do just that.
