4-star offensive lineman Waltclaire Flynn Jr. pledges to UCF
Waltclaire Flynn Jr., a 4-star offensive lineman from Loganville, Georgia, announced his verbal commitment to UCF on Saturday evening.
He is the second commit in the past 24 hours, following Dr. Phillips defensive back Jashad Presley’s pledge on Friday afternoon.
He is the eighth member of the Knights’ 2024 class and the first OL.
Flynn took an official visit to UCF in the first week of June before making his decision.
“I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at UCF,” Flynn announced live on Instagram among friends and family.
The 6-foot-2, 305-pound recruit from Grayson High ranks as the nation’s No. 20 interior offensive lineman and No. 35 overall prospect in the state, according to 247Sports, which combines rankings listed by major recruiting services.
He is the Knights’ second 4-star commit, behind Fort Lauderdale running back Stacy Gage who pledged three weeks ago.
“Every time I go there, I get red-carpet treatment,” said Flynn with a UCF hat on his head.
UCF’s move to the Big 12 Conference, representing Power 5 athletic status, encourages more 4-star players to consider their football program.
Three 4-star prospects — DL John Walker, LB Andrew Harris and DL Isaiah Nixon — signed in the Knights’ 2023 class following the announcement to join the Big 12.
UCF historically acquired a maximum of one 4-star player per class year, according to 247Sports records.
Flynn is the first Georgia native of this recruiting class.
