I’ve bought a £1.5k vintage van to live on the road – I’m ripping the insides out because it’s so dirty
A TRAVELLER has revealed she bought a vintage van at a bargain price.
The woman went viral after sharing clips of the 1989 Ford which she will be turning into her new pad.
Lindy was living and working on a remote Island in Australia that inhabited just five people.
But she recently decided she wanted to get on the road and go travelling.
To start off her journey Lindy bought a vintage online for a bargain price.
She said in a TikTok video online: “I just found a $2,000 [£1,500] van on Facebook Marketplace so I’m going to go pick it up right now.”
“I’m just hoping that it’s not too good to be true.”
The bargain hunter said she has watched the van go down in price online as it became clear the sellers were desperate to get rid of it.
Lindy said: “So I initially saved this van a week ago and it was listed for $6,500 but over the days I’ve seen the price dramatically drop”
“The people selling it were in need of rent money and wanted it gone immediately.”
Lindy had to make a long journey herself to go get the van but was amazed when she finally got her hands on the van.
She said: “So I drove from Death Valley to Las Vegas to jump on the deal.”

Lindy said her van was even more perfect that she has imagined.
She said: “Oh my god she’s perfect.”
Lindy also pointed out the van was in pretty good condition.
She said: It’s a 1989 Ford Econoline with under 100,000 miles on it and shockingly for the low price everything works.”
The traveller said she would be making some changes to her new van.
She said: “I’m not gonna lie the interior is a little bit dirty and stained but to me it didn’t really matter because I knew when buying I’m gonna rip the whole thing out. Mostly from the inside as long as it has good bones that’s all that matters.”
However Lindy confirmed she was be keeping a few unique features
She said: “I didn’t have any idea what the inside would look like before I picked it up but it has a really cool full bed that comes down electronically. The vintage 80’s bottle opener on the back door and a new bluetooth sound system installed by the last owner.”
Lindy has set herself a budget with £7,800 left to do up her van.
She said: “I was willing to put $10k into the total build so this gives me $8,000 of fun money to put into it.”
