The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has filed a petition to disqualify Ajit Pawar and eight other MLAs who have become ministers in the Maharashtra government. The petition was delivered by the newly appointed leader of opposition, Jitendra Awhad, to the Maharashtra Assembly Speaker. The NCP's disciplinary committee has passed a resolution calling for the disqualification, stating that the defections undermine the party's interests.
