Mum food-shamed for ‘forcing’ her son to eat exclusively vegan diet – with people saying it’ll harm him long-term
A MUM has been shamed after revealing her son follows an exclusively vegan diet.
She had taken to social media to share a video of what her little boy eats in a day, kicking off with avocado on rye toast, watermelon and an orange for breakfast.
For lunch, he had an oil free Spanish omelette, cucumber, orange, oil free hummus, dates and peanut butter.
When he wanted a snack, he was given two cups of frozen mango, a banana and three fat free whole food mozzarella balls.
And for dinner, he had three slices of pizza and broccoli.
She also tried him with some scrambled tofu, but he wasn’t a fan.
“This is for inspiration, every kid is different and has their own needs!” she wrote alongside the TikTok video.
But after sharing the clip, she quickly found herself slammed by other parents, with many accusing her of “forcing” her son to be vegan.
“Parents these days are brainwashing the kids,” one wrote.
“Every parent ‘pushes’ their own food choices on their kids tho,” another added.
“Forcing your choices on your kid,” a third raged.
“No child choose to be a VEGAN. Only parents choose it for them,” someone else said.
As another added: “Veganism is a choice. Not to be forced on others.”
And some even went as far as insisting that following a vegan diet may harm the child when he gets older.
“You only continue to store Iron and build bone density until 30 through access stores,” one wrote.
“If you ditch dairy you are going to cause huge health problems.”
But someone else argued: “Funny how people worry about protein and b12 with vegan diets but mention nothing when ppl eat nothing but junk food and takeaways.”
As another agreed, writing: “Isn’t it bizarre that if you were eating processed crap at McDonald’s you wouldn’t be getting this much criticism.”
“Everyone’s choice how they parent , I think this is beautiful,” someone else praised.
