This Morning fans slam ‘out of touch’ show as they show off multi-million pound mansions after free school meal segment
THIS Morning viewers were left unimpressed today as the show featured a segment about very expensive celebrity homes.
Holly Willoughby and her co-host Craig Doyle chatted to American journalist Leonard Steinberg about Rod Stewart selling his manor – just moments after a segment on free school meals.
Leonard told how Rod is selling his mansion in Beverly Hills for a huge £55 million.
It was in stark contrast to the start of the show when school children Max, 10 and Poppy, seven, appeared alongside their teacher Chloe to discuss free school means.
The pupils at Monksdown School in Liverpool are on a mission to ensure every primary school child in the country receives a free school meal, regardless of their parents’ financial situation.
Along with 90,000 other people who signed an open letter, the schoolchildren wrote their own personal letters to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak urging him to make sure no child goes hungry.
Those watching at home weren’t impressed with the change of direction though and took to Twitter to moan.
One person said: “Bit out of touch for @thismorning to be showing celebrities £20M+ houses when we’re in a cost of living crisis and people can’t afford to eat or turn their lights on at the moment……”
A second pointed out: “Started the show talking about having free meals in schools to help struggling families and now they’re talking about celeb multimillion homes!!!!”
While a third added: “Yeah, I totally want to be seeing celebs’ multimillion mansions on my screen in the middle of a cost of living crisis where I’m struggling to afford necessities.”
