Suspected ‘murder-suicide’ in remote village as OAP ‘killed in home’ and woman found dead in castle grounds
COPS are probing a suspected murder-suicide after the bodies of an OAP and a woman were discovered in a Scots village.
Cops raced to Robertson Crescent in Keiss, Highlands, just after midnight on Sunday where they discovered the body of a 74-year-old man.
His death is being treated as murder.
The body of a 39-year-old woman was found within the grounds of Keiss Castle around 8pm on the same day during a police search.
Officers say there is no risk to the wider public.
It comes after locals reported road closures yesterday as a full-scale land and sea search was launched as part of police enquiries in the village and surrounding areas.
RNLI and coastguard teams were scrambled along with a rescue helicopter.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “An investigation is ongoing but we are treating these incidents as linked and contained, with no risk to the wider public.
“A police presence will remain in the area while our investigation continues.”
