Woman proudly shows off DIY privacy fence using Home Depot bargains – but people think she made a crucial error
PRIVACY fences have been all the rage on TikTok, however, viewers think a woman may have made an oversight with her DIY partition.
The influencer proudly showed her followers her handy work, which she created with Home Depot bargains.
In her video, TikTok user Dalia (@diydalia) showed viewers how she assembled a privacy fence for her balcony.
She explained: “I wanted to add privacy to my balcony but the only options are things [I don’t like].
“I thought of a DIY that will look so much better,” Dalia told her followers.
Showing footage of the process, the TikToker said: “First I did a little math to figure out dimensions and then I went to Home Depot to get my lumber.
“For the build, I marked off exactly where the pieces should go to exactly cover the existing railing bars. Then I added some wood glue down and started assembling,” Dalia said.
After assembling the partition, the influencer then added sealant to the DIY fence.
For her final step, the content creator attached the fence to her balcony railing using zip ties.
However, when Dalia unveiled the finished look her followers were left confused by her vision.
Dalia’s DIY partition looked quite similar to the original railing and people questioned how much additional privacy it provided.
TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the privacy fence.
“You did a good job but, uh, it’s essentially the same,” wrote one viewer.
Another follower joked: “Is the privacy in the room with us right now?”
“More privacy? Nah but definitely much more aesthetic!” commented a third person.
Other viewers shared some suggestions on how to elevate the privacy partition.
“Maybe if the boards were closer it would afford some privacy. [They’re] too widely spaced and [it’s[ too much work to achieve a minimal privacy increase,” wrote one follower.
Dalia explained that she had intentionally spaced out the boards to maximize the amount of light entering her home.
