Kevin Spacey accuser gives lurid details of attack: 'I almost drove off the road'
As the sexual assault trial against actor Kevin Spacey proceeded in London, the first accuser to take the stand made a number of detailed claims, reported NBC News — including that one of Spacey's attacks nearly caused him to crash the vehicle they were driving in.
"The pair were traveling to Elton John’s famous White Tiara Ball in the early 2000s at the height of Spacey’s fame, the man said," reported Patrick Smith. "'He grabbed me so hard I almost drove off the road,' the alleged victim told Southward Crown Court via a filmed police interview. 'He grabbed me really hard, it really hurt. I said ‘Don’t you f---ing do that or I will knock you out.’ He laughed. I will never forget it.'
According to the man, whose identity is legally shielded from being released by the press, Spacey "sexually touched him a dozen times over the course of five years." He said the first such incident, in which Spacey allegedly forced his hands onto the man's genitals, was "a massive shock" and that it felt like Spacey had been "grooming" him for years, starting with constant personal questions about his relationships and fitness.
The trial has been going on for several days, with the British court being told last week that Spacey is a "sexual bully" with a pattern of non-consensually grabbing men's crotches.
Spacey, who has had an extensive film and television career stretching back to the 1980s, has claimed that several of the assaults alleged against him were fabricated, and that some others did happen but were consensual encounters.
In addition to the charges in the United Kingdom, Spacey has also faced accusations and legal jeopardy in the United States, although he was held not liable in a 2022 civil suit alleging he molested actor Anthony Rapp as a teenager.
