'I hope you get some nice soundbites': Harvard student rips Newsmax reporter over race question
Newsmax correspondent Mike Carter faced pushback when he questioned Harvard students about the Supreme Court's recent Affirmative Action ruling that banned race as a factor in college admissions.
"Not everyone was so open-minded here at Harvard," Carter announced during a report on Monday.
"I freaking hate the Supreme Court," one student said. "It's a bunch of corrupt assholes who clearly don't have the interest of the people. They have the interest of whoever's paying them."
Another student refused to answer Carter's questions.
"Should we evaluate students based off of merit or based off of skin color?" the Newsmax correspondent asked.
"Um, I don't," the student replied. "Sorry, I think you're asking leading questions, and I don't think you're really doing the math."
"No, you don't think we should evaluate kids based off of merit?" Carter pressed.
"I hope you get some really nice soundbites out of this," the student quipped. "I don't think you're being a fair interviewer, though."
"Should we evaluate people based off skin color?" Carter asked as the student walked away.
