I’m a mum – 6 hacks to a stress-free holiday from beating the liquid allowance to stopping your best pram getting bashed
A SAVVY mum has shared her top tips for taking a small baby on holiday.
With tips to getting around allowance restrictions and protecting your pricey pushchair.
Katie Thompson shared her tips in a TikTok video online.
She said: “ Travelling abroad with a seven month old – holiday tips. We took out beautiful daughter Aurelia on her first holiday to Majorca. It was amazing.”
The mum revealed she left her baby’s pram at home and brought a cheap one instead.
She said: “Firstly we decided to buy a second hand pram from Facebook Marketplace – this pram cost £60 and it was honestly the best decision we made.”
“It just meant our pram at home was not scratched, broken, parts falling off. I’ve read so many stories about this happening to families and we just didn’t want this to happen to us. This pram was perfect.”
Katie got around the 100ml liquid allowance by ordering her baby essentials for collection in the airport.
She said: “We also ordered our baby essentials to the Boots in the airport, we did this online and we ordered our nappies, swim nappies, milk, wipes, nappy sacks and it was honestly the easiest quickest thing we did.”
This also meant she saved space in her luggage.
“I would recommend this to any family – it just meant it didn’t take up any weight or extra space in our suitcase and we could just take it straight onto the plane.”
Katies say her and her family both brought a pram and a travel cot.

She said: “We also took two baby items with us. We took a pram and a travel cot. Obviously check with your airline if you can do this. Other families took a car seat but we just took a travel cot as it was a high one.”
The savvy mum said she bought an inflatable float for her baby to play with in water which also won’t take up too much space.
She said: “We also took Aurelia’s float with us just so she was a little bit more supported and comfortable when enjoying the pool and she loved it.”
Katie added: “People always ask how she was on the flight and she was honestly a dream we just made sure we were really prepared. She had a bottle for landing and taking off and we had headphones with her favourite music playing.”
The savvy mum pointed out an all inclusive holiday is a lot easier when you have a young baby.
“I also highly recommend all inclusive when you’ve got a weaning baby just to try all the new foods flavours without worry about food each night.”
Katie reminded parents holidays are a time for ignoring routines and enjoying themselves.
She said: “Lastly enjoy every moment with your baby, forget routine and just be in the moment.”
