Coney Island competitor eats 62 hot dogs on July 4 to win prize

NEW YORK CITY, New York: Current champion Joey Chestnut won the US Fourth of July hot dog eating contest, after consuming 62 franks in 10 minutes.

Indiana native Chestnut, 39, won the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating contest at New York City's Coney Island for the 16th time.

The second place men's finisher, Geoff Esper of Oxford, Massachusetts, only ate 49 hot dogs.
