BBC News host in mortifying blunder as she makes VERY strange noises thinking microphone is turned off
A BBC NEWS host was caught up in a mortifying blunder as she made VERY strange noises thinking her microphone was off.
Presenter Samantha Simmonds was anchoring the channel’s evening news bulletin last night.
She brought viewers the latest headlines – including Meta’s brand new app to rival Elon Musk’s Twitter.
However, things turned very strange as she signed off and handed over to the weather team.
“And now with a look at the weather here’s Chris Fawkes,” she told Beeb watchers.
But just as Chris started his forecast, Samantha could be heard making strange noises.
The 43-year-old made a long and loud sigh that saw viewers struggle to hear what Chris was saying.
She also screamed “yes” followed by more inaudible language.
It appears the audio didn’t play out in the studio as Chris continued on with his bulletin blissfully unaware.
The BBC has been plagued with embarrassing blunders recently, as one presenter was unaware she was still on air.
Anchor Lukwesa Burak had just finished her segment and the show was supposed to cut to a bagpiper but it awkwardly jumped back to her in the studio.
Lukwesa was grabbing a quick break between news pieces and thought she would grab the chance to have a sneaky stretch.
However, live TV is a fickle beast, and it unfortunately snapped back to her in the BBC offices while she was mid-bend, arms above her head.
Her face was a picture of horror as she realised what had happened and awkwardly attempted to style it out but could be seen nervously smiling as she kept her head down.
