The Chase fans seriously distracted by familiar-looking contestant’s appearance – but can you spot why?
THE Chase fans were left doing a double take as they spotted a ‘familiar face’ appearing on the daytime favourite.
The ITV programme, fronted by Bradley Walsh, welcomed four new hopefuls to see if they had what it took to take home the cash.
However, rather than all eyes being on the questions, viewers at home were instantly drawn to one contestant – Carmel.
Alongside Carmel were Ross from London, Ali from Nigeria as well as Samta from Leeds.
The distraction came as a result of Carmel’s appearance as they were left utterly convinced she was controversial politician Ann Widdecombe.
Carmel bore a striking resemblance to the politics star who is more widely known for her slew of TV stints and appearances in the media.
The Chase viewers could not help but make comments on the lookalike situation whilst watching along at home.
Taken aback, one fan said: “F***ing hell it’s Ann Widdecombe!…”
Another even joked: “If you ordered Ann Widdecombe off wish.”
A third penned: “Ann Widdecombe seat 2!!”
As a fourth posted a photo of Ann waving from her infamous stint on Celebrity Big Brother alongside the caption: “Bye Ann!,” as Carmel found herself axed quickly from the contest.
She was knocked out by the formidable Jenny Ryan, also known as The Vixen.
