David Ornstein relays what he has heard about new Harry Kane contract at Spurs
The Athletic’s David Ornstein has told Sky Sports (Football Daily) that Tottenham Hotspur still plan on renegotiating a new contract with Harry Kane.
On Tuesday, we relayed an update from 90 min which claimed Tottenham have continued to maintain that Kane is not for sale despite Bayern Munich’s interest.

The North London club were also said to be growing in confidence that Ange Postecoglou could convince the striker to stick around.
Subsequently, The Guardian revealed on Wednesday that Spurs had offered ‘a massive new contract’ to the England captain, which would significantly improve his £200,000-a-week terms.
However, it was explained that the 28-year-old has no immediate intention to sign it and will certainly not do so while the transfer window remains open.
Spurs could renegotiate Kane contract next season
Ornstein has now suggested that Spurs have no intention of letting the centre-forward leave this summer and are even ready to restart contract talks after the 2023-24 campaign gets underway.
The journalist explained that the hope is that Kane will be won over by Postecoglou, with the striker desiring nothing more than to win trophies at his boyhood club.
Ornstein added that it is a question of how high Bayern are other clubs are willing to go this summer to test Tottenham’s resolve.

As things stand, it appears as if Levy and Spurs are willing to gamble by allowing Kane to run into the final year of his deal.
However, things could well change over the coming weeks if Bayern (or another non-Premier League side) were willing to pay £85m-£90m plus add-ons for the striker.
