Spurs are yet to make a direct approach for centre-back despite rumours – Journalist reports
Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas has revealed on the Last World On Spurs that Tottenham Hotspur have not made a direct approach to Bayern Leverkusen for Edmond Tapsoba.
Some reports over the last 48 hours have suggested that Spurs are on the verge of strengthening at left centre-back, with The Athletic reporting on Tuesday that the Lilywhites are increasingly confident of getting a deal over the line for Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven.

The other alternative Tottenham have allegedly looked at for that position is Tapsoba, with Alasdair Gold revealing on his YouTube channel last week that according to his information, the Lilywhites prefer the Leverkusen star over the Dutchman.
However, 90 min suggested a couple of days ago that Spurs are concerned about the growing interest in the 24-year-old among their Premier League rivals, including Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United.
No concrete approach yet for Edmond Tapsoba
Thomas has now said on LWOS that while the Lilywhites do ‘admire’ Tapsoba, they are yet to make a direct approach to Leverkusen regarding the centre-back.
The journalist added that the Bundesliga club have also shown a reluctance to sell the Burkina Faso international until now.

Tapsoba might be Tottenham’s top target for the left centre-back role but the club already showed by shifting their attention to Guglielmo Vicario from David Raya that they are not prepared to wait too long to address priority positions.
So, unless there is some significant development or breakthrough in Spurs’ talks with Leverkusen over Tapsoba in the next two days or so, I expect the Lilywhites to complete a swoop for Van de Ven.
