In his speech, the prime minister said nine years ago, more than 20% of the villages in Chhattisgarh did not have any mobile connectivity but today this figure has come down to 6%. Farmers and laborers are the biggest beneficiaries of this. Modi also pointed out that most of these tribal villages where connectivity has improved were the ones ones affected by Naxalite violence.
