The IAEA said it had obtained additional access to the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant sites. Representatives of the agency failed to find traces of mines and explosives there.
This was said in a statement by the organisation.
“In response to our requests, our specialists have been given additional access to the site. So far they have not seen any mines or explosives,” said Raphael Grossi, head of the agency.
However, he added that the IAEA members needed access to a number of locations, in particular to the roofs of Units 3 and 4 and to parts of the engine rooms.
Earlier, the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant said that work at the spent nuclear fuel storage site at the plant is carried out under constant supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission.
