Cleaning fans are sharing the easy way to banish wasps this summer and all you need is a cup of petrol
WASPS are not the friendliest of pests to have around.
And cleaning fans have shared an easy hack to keep them away this summer.
Taking to TikTok, one family shared they had the beginnings of a wasp nest growing on the bottom of their table in the garden.
In the clip, the woman got her husband to fill a cup half full with petrol and placed it over the nest.
Almost instantly, the wasps began to fall and die into the petrol.
Indian Express reports that when the jar covers the nest, the wasps start collapsing from asphyxiation and die instantly.
In the clip, once all the wasps have been destroyed they then get rid of the nest.
“I’m supremely grossed out and fascinated at the same time. Now we don’t have to worry about precious Otto (their dog) getting stung,” she captioned the post.
While the hack may work, petrol can be dangerous, especially next to flames so ensure no children or pets are around and dispose of the petrol properly.
The clip posted to the account @lchevy6 has gone viral with over 610k views and over 13k likes.
People were stunned and quickly took to the comments to thank the family for sharing the hack.
One person wrote: “Where was this trick when I could’ve used it three years ago?! I had hornets in my shed, no nest.”
Another commented: “I saw that trick too. Pretty amazing.”
“Wow, thanks for sharing,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “Dish soap does the same thing. just throw it on the nest. it smothers them.”
