I was on Love Island but swapped my designer make-up for Poundland faves – here’s how I got on for £20
SHE remains a Love Island favourite, who frequently shares make-up tips and tutorials on her social media pages.
And after countless requests to try out Poundland‘s make-up range, Demi Jones happily obliged, and headed to her local store to stock up.
She bought two different foundations, two concealers, pressed powder, a duo blush, a setting spray, a brow pencil, powder brow kit, tinted brow gel, clear brow gel, two mascaras, two lipsticks, a lip gloss and some fake lashes – all for £24.
Then it was time to try it out.
Demi began her TikTok video by applying the Matte Me Over foundation, which she’d bought in two different shades.
She used a foundation brush also from Poundland to apply it, before praising the consistency of the product, and the medium coverage it offered her.
Next up were her brows, and as Demi has an “intense” brow routine usually, she wasn’t sure how the budget make-up would hold up.
She started with the little brow kit, which comes with three different powder shades and a wax.
She also used the tinted brow gel to cover up some of the more sparse sections, and the clear gel, but couldn’t use the brow pencil as she’d accidentally picked up the wrong colour.
“I can’t lie, I’m absolutely loving this,” Demi gushed of her brows.
“That is such a sick brow, I’m so pleased!”
She then moved onto concealer – using the £3 Supersize concealer, which gave her Tarte Shape Tape vibes.
“That is actually gorgeous. It goes to show you haven’t got to spend a fortune to get results,” she said.
Next up was the pressed powder, which Demi said was “very velvety” and “giving quite high end.”
“I can actually see what the hype is about. Especially for £1,” she grinned.
She then moved onto mascara – trying a £1 one and a £3 one, before admitting she preferred the cheaper option.
Demi loved the blush duo, calling it “so pretty”, before she completed her look with the £1.50 fake lashes.
“These definitely get Lash Queen seal of approval,” she said.
After popping on some setting spray, Demi reflected on the Poundland look, as she said: “I absolutely love it, it’s so good.
“The whole face cost me just over £20 which is crazy. I’m definitely going to use it again.”
People were quick to comment on Demi’s video, with one writing: “Stunning love this deffo going to try the rest of the range I’ve already got the powder & it’s insane compared to £30 ones I have.”
“I’m obsessed with all of it I’m going straight to Poundland this weekend,” another added.
As a third said: “I actually use the powder, I don’t only buy one I buy more than one as whenever I run out it always sold out, plus is it £1 each.”
