EastEnders moved AGAIN in schedule chaos as Wimbledon takes over BBC
EASTENDERS has been moved again in another schedule shake-up as Wimbledon takes over the BBC.
The broadcaster has made a raft of schedule changes as they extensively cover the tournament.
Bosses have dropped EastEnders from BBC One on Monday night for Wimbledon.
Instead fans of the long-running soap will have to tune into BBC Two at 7:30pm.
EastEnders will be back in its regular slot on BBC One from Tuesday onwards.
Fans can also log onto the iPlayer each morning from 6am to stream that day’s episode before its broadcast on television.
The Sun previously revealed how the closing credits could soon roll for good on EastEnders — as fans turn off amid bonkers plots and claims it has gone woke.
The BBC soap barely scrapes a million viewers, compared to up to 30 million tuning in in its heyday.
Soap chief Chris Clenshaw’s desperate move to bring superbitch Cindy Beale back from the dead has not sparked the desired upturn.
It is rapidly losing ground to ITV rivals Corrie and Emmerdale, which pull in around four million per episode.
The decision to build a new £87million set in Herts — funded by licence fee payers — has also come under increasing scrutiny.
The decline has led to speculation the soap — which first aired in 1985 — could end.
