The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has accused the Modi government of being “vindictive” for its reluctance to provide rice for Karnataka’s Anna Bhagya programme, which distributes 10 kg of rice each to low-income families across the state. As FCI was offering surplus rice in a public auction, the AICC general secretary RS Surjewala revealed only 170 tonnes were sold to traders, stating "even ‘traders’ have refused to buy the FCI Rice being offered by the Modi government."
