Several parts of Punjab and Haryana have been hit by continuous rainfall, causing damage to crops and properties worth crores of rupees, as well as nine casualties. Relief shelters have been set up in the affected areas while the chief ministers of both states are monitoring the situation closely. There have been breakdowns in power and water supplies in some of the worst-affected areas, and the government has ordered the closure of schools in the impacted regions.
