Bargain hunter shows off his latest buy with posh Gucci perfumes for just £5 – but people are all saying the same thing
A PROUD bargain hunter has been accused of making things up after claiming he managed to get his hands on designer perfume for just a fiver.
Shopper Mathew Hatch took to Facebook where he shared a snap of his successful haul from the high-street.
According to the bloke, who informed fellow shoppers about the deal on the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, the perfumes were selling for just £5.
All chuffed with the steal, the 36-year-old wrote in the post: ”Got these today in boots for £5.
”Bargain of the day.”
The perfume – Gucci Guilty Love Edition – usually retails for more than £60, meaning the lucky customer had managed to make some impressive savings.
But whilst Mathew may have been pleased with his cheap buy which even had a red £5 sticker on, people on the platform were quite sceptical.
The post soon racked up a whopping 2.2k likes, as hundreds raced to comments – and it seems that not everyone was convinced it was a genuine deal.
One eagle-eyed Facebook user insisted that something wasn’t quite right.
”Boots never have a label like this, and it would say clearance with a barcode with a price and the name of the item.”
Another agreed, writing: ”You can do these yourself take a sticker off another item put on another wala they need to change the price or false advertising.”
Someone else demanded proof, commenting: ”Receipts….”

Others, meanwhile, didn’t think Mathew was lying and hoped he’d ”enjoy” the cheap find.
One said: ”Well done great bargain, if it scans at the till they need to honour the price.
”They can then remove all the affected items from sale and correct the price.”
Someone else chimed in: ”I remember getting a Bvlgari Man fragrance from boots several years back for fiver.
