Missing CT man found dead in Connecticut River
A man who had been reported missing in Old Lyme was found dead in the Connecticut River on Monday, police said.
David Hickie, 56, was reported missing to Connecticut State Police about 8:50 a.m. Monday. A Silver Alert was issued and law enforcement launched a search for Hickie but did not find him, according to Connecticut State Police Troop F.
About 7:25 p.m., the Old Lyme Fire Department and the Connecticut Department of Environment and Energy Protection responded the Connecticut River near Ferry Road for a report of a man floating in the water. He was later identified as Hickie.
Life-saving measures were taken at the scene but Hickie was pronounced dead, state police said.
According to state police, there is no suspicion of criminal activity but the death remains under investigation.
