2023 World Cup Betting Breakdown Group A: Norway might be back
All the focus on Group A at the 2023 Women’s World Cup will be placed on Norway and rightfully so. The highest-ranked club in the pool (No. 12) has reached the quarterfinals just once at the World Cup (2019) since losing the third-place game to the United States in 2007. Four years later, Norway failed to advance out of group play during the 2011 World Cup.
This is despite some significant success in the 1990s. Norway won the World Cup in 1995 after finishing runner-up in 1991. It also finished fourth in 1999.
A formidable draw in Group A this year will show if Norway’s 2019 result has launched the country into another era of elite play on the world stage or was merely a charmed run.
The rest of the Group A featured co-host country New Zealand and Philippines. Here’s how they stack up.
