We’re a family-of-four & turned a school bus into a tiny home – it has a loft where the kids sleep & spa-life bathroom
A FAMILY-OF-FOUR have been flooded with praise after revealing how they transformed an old school bus into a super stylish tiny home.
Dina and Chris Chandler, who have two children, moved to Montana and decided to convert an old school bus into a tiny home so they could travel and enjoy many adventures as a family.
And with features including a fabricated loft where their children sleep, a king-sized bed, coffee nook, and spa-like shower, it’s little surprise their bus conversion has been inundated with compliments.
The couple, who share their adventures on Instagram, also spoke to the Tiny Tours YouTube Channel and gave social media users a look inside the conversion.
Dina begins by showing off the kitchen, which is complete with floating shelf and four burner stove.
“We have a farm sink and it’s extra large because I wanted an area to bathe the children,” she says.
“They take baths in here together which is really great.

“Also, it kind of works as storage so when we’re on the go and moving around we can throw all of our stuff in there any like knickknacks lying around.
“And, if I don’t want to do the dishes, I can just throw them in there.”
The mum-of-two goes on to share the “ultimate faucet” she purchased which doubles up as a shower for the kids.
Next, she moves on to discuss her favourite part of the kitchen – the coffee nook.
“You open up this door, slide out this drawer and then you have the spin coffee maker,” she explains.
“It’s something that my husband and I love – it makes tons of different coffees from cappuccinos, lattes, espresso shots, iced coffees and also hot water for tea.”
Along with the “cosy” living room, which features cushions Dina made herself, the bus also boasts a fully-functioning bathroom, which has a “super easy to clean you” compostable toilet, and shower.
“I was very selfish about the bathroom I knew that I would be using it the most,” she explains.
“My husband jumps in lakes and says that he’s showered and my kids bathe in the sink so this was basically my area.
“…I love it…it’s a spa experience.
“The head goes up and down to kind of get really close…and it works really well in a small space because the mist kind of just falls around you.”
Dina then proceeds to explain that while Chris installed a loft in the bus which acts as a cosy area for one of their kids to sleep, they have the luxury of a king-sized bed.
“We actually have a really large television that goes up and down on an actuator,” she says.
“I wanted two windows so we could have some kind of panoramic view going on, so we can lay in bed look out at the ocean or the trees and bring nature indoors a little bit and just we really relax here.”
It wasn’t long before the couple were inundated with praise for their very impressive handiwork.
“This is actually one of the best skoolie builds I have seen,” praised one.
“It looks really comfortable and quite cosy. Congratulations.”
A second enthused: “Great idea having the loft.
“Have not see that before. Perfect bedroom space for your four-year old.”
A third wrote: “There’s a lot of great ideas packed into this bus! Thanks for the tour!”
Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “Any kid would just love that loft! And I love the netting for safety. Looks so cool! And it’s so open & airy! Everything is designed so great.”
