Mum reveals genius way she cut kids’ bedroom in half to save space – now other parents are desperate to give it a go
WHILE kids often don’t mind sharing a room when they’re young, as they get older, it can be a completely different story.
From fights to being desperate for their own privacy, there are a whole host of reasons why anyone older would be eager for their own space at home.
But one savvy mum has come up with the perfect space-saving trick – by dividing her kids’ room into two by creating a clever division wall…complete with bunk bed.
Ashton Jonmes (@ajones.05.89) posted a clip to TikTok demonstrating the process involved and asks: “How does this…turn into this?”
Before, the room was a complete open space – giving the kids no privacy of their own.
But thanks to her handiwork, the savvy mum created a division wall and split the room in half – complete with a cutout cove on either side, perfect for a bunk bed.
The post has gone down a storm online, racking up a whopping 1.5 million views and hundreds of comments from homeowners – with many praising the “genius” idea.
“Did you just turn one bedroom into two,” wrote one, followed by the mind-blown emoji.

A second penned: “That is a really good idea for kids who share the room.”
A third commented: “I’ve been working on a similar project to separate my teenage boys who keep fighting.”
Meanwhile, a fourth noted: “I started hating this but its actually a great idea. Awesome job.”
Another added: “OH THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT I NEED! My kids are moving into a bigger room that’s longer and this would be perfect!”
And a further chimed in: “Omg I am sooo doing this for my boys they keep fighting over who’s mess is who’s privacy and their own space! Thank you for the idea!!!”
However, one person wasn’t quite as impressed.
“How to reduce the value of your house in just a couple easy steps,” the wrote.
Ashton hit back: “How to be a rude in one step, hope your day gets better.”
