I built an Etsy tiny home – I still have space for luxuries like a dishwasher, and my fireplace has a clever double use
A DIY enthusiast has shown there was no need to cut back on luxury when he built his Etsy tiny home.
Rather than do without, he managed to fit everything in, including a dishwasher and a fireplace.
The fireplace fixture was particularly impressive because it had a clever double use.
This feature offered warmth through the built-in heater, but also through the illusion of heat with the digital flame effect.
It was all down to the design of Never Say Cant (@neversaycant).
His TikTok is all about his passions: “Typical DIYer who built a tiny home.”
In the process, he has attracted over 151,000 likes to his platform as he documented his achievement of a titchy, compact home.
With a smaller floor space than larger conventional homes, he’s had to search hard for smaller appliances and furniture that accommodated the limited floor area.
In this post, he showed how he did it with oodles of style and practicality. You will see no evidence of any concession to comfort or design.
“They just make it work,” he said of his chosen pieces. “Things that make sense in my small space.”
His tiny home was made of wood, complete with a porch. Inside, his kitchen was full-equipped.
It contained a: “Compact 18-inch dishwasher,” and a “Reverse osmosis water filtration and tiny sink.”
The mod-cons didn’t stop there. There was still room for a: “Vented over range microwave.”
The “rolling island with bar leaf,” created an extra dining space, and after-dinner drinks could be enjoyed in a more relaxed setting at the: “Extendable coffee table with storage.”
There was even more space in the bedroom with: “Under bed storage drawers.”
He wanted to pass on the joy of small house living by selling his recipe for success: “Floor plans for tiny homes. Only $10,” he said.
They were proving to be popular: “I’ve had a lot of people aleady use it to build their own tiny homes,” he wrote.
There was a lot of interest in his video too, with over 37,000 liking his post.
One commenter wondered if his example could solve some societal issues.
“I swear a little neighborhood of these tiny homes would make so much sense for combatting homelessness and higher rental costs,” she said.
He agreed: “That is a business venture I’m currently investigating,” he revealed.
Another fan could vouch for the success of smaller furniture: “I have three of those items in our small rental home. They make a world of difference.”
This mom wanted one: “If I was single with no kids I would love to live in one of those.”
Finally, this home owner couldn’t believe how efficiently he had designed the small space.
“Dang. I have a regular house and I have literally half the counter space you have.”
