Mastermind of Dasu Attack Killed in Afghanistan’s Kunar
Tariq, the renowned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan leader and mastermind of the Dasu terror attack, was assassinated on Wednesday in the Kunar province of Afghanistan.
The death of Tariq, who was involved in the terrorist attack in Dasu, was announced by Radio Pakistan.
At least three Pakistani employees and 10 Chinese engineers were on board the bus when it crashed into a deep ravine following an explosion. They were headed to the Dasu Hydro Power Project construction site.
The suicide explosion that murdered 13 persons, mainly Chinese labourers, near the Dasu hydropower project in the Upper Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on July 14, 2021, was planned mainly by Tariq, a TTP member.
The terrorist act was planned in Afghanistan, where material help was given. According to FO, the car used in the VBIED attack was transported from Afghanistan to Pakistan.
Khalid Sheikh, the suicide bomber who carried out the attack, was trained in Afghanistan before being transferred to Pakistan, according to ARY News.
