Fire Kills 10 Members of Same Family in Pakistan’s Lahore
In the early hours of Wednesday, a fire broke out in a residence in the Bhati Gate area of Lahore, Pakistan, Killing ten members of one family, according to local media outlets.
All the family members were trapped inside a house in Noor Mohalla when a fire spread throughout its three floors.
Additionally, it was said that the family members had locked themselves in the house’s back room.
According to rescuers, Zaharuddin Babar’s family was residing in the home, and among those killed in the blaze were Babar’s son, daughter, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.
Saira Bano, 60, Farhana, Seemab, 13, Sania, 18, Mono, 13, Adil, 16; and 4-year-old Anzal Fatima were among the deceased.
A formal declaration from Rescue 1122 claims that the department was informed of the fire at 2:32 am. The rescue service responded by sending 33 rescuers and 11 vehicles to the incident location.
The statement added that the house’s second story was in a “very congested area” where the fire started. Additionally, according to Rescue 1122, the bodies had been transported to Mayo Hospital.
Later, the fire was reported to have been put out, and the cooling process was underway, according to the emergency service.
