What vacuum is right for you: upright, stick, handheld, or robot?

Upright vacuums are what most people envision when they think of a vacuum cleaner. The motor, vacuum head, and dustbin are contained in a single unit that plugs into your wall. Upright vacuums tend to have strong suction and a removable hose for getting hard-to-reach messes. Cordless stick vacuums have grown in popularity recently because of their convenience and portability. However, they must be recharged frequently, have small dustbins, and are expensive.
