Susanna Reid hits back at cruel troll who slammed her presenting skills with cutting comment
SUSANNA Reid put an ITV viewer in their place after recieving online backlash.
The news reporter, who is the highest paid woman on television, clashed with an online troll on Twitter after they left negative feedback in a recent post.
Susanna, 52, defended Good Morning Britain after they were accused on social media of “bad journalism.”
One Twitter user pointed out that the show had debated whether Barbie is good role model but supposedly hadn’t discussed a story on Boris Johnson.
However, Susanna was quick to correct the viewer, writing back: “We covered the Boris Johnson WhatsApp story at considerable length.”
But the backlash didn’t stop there as another criticised the show in length and even bashed Susanna’s presenting skills.
They said: “The fact you are talking about a barbie which is a child’s film on a serious news show, shows the public how far your standards have fallen and how bad you have got as a presenter…”
To which Susanna swiped back: “Hi Chad! We run a three hour show packed with serious and lighter news items, interviews and debates to appeal to a wide range of viewers.
“Barbie may not be the item that appeals to you, but it will to others.
“This year I was nominated for a BAFTA, RTS & TRIC award so it seems I’m getting better as a presenter.”
One fan of the presenter warned in the comments: “Never read the comments.”
But Susanna seemed unfazed by the criticism, simply quipping back: “I enjoy the comments.”
It comes after the star faced off with Insulate Britain’s Tracey Mallaghan.
The pair engaged in a heated debated after Tracey patronisingly referred to her as ‘darling’.
