NATIONAL SUMMARY
Showers and thunderstorms are set to shift back to the East
Coast tomorrow, stretching from the coastal Carolinas into
New England. Localized flash flooding will be possible with
these storms, especially where heavy rain has recently
fallen. A few severe storms are also possible, with strong
wind gusts being the main hazard. A complex of storms is
also set to stretch from Nebraska to western Kentucky, with
both damaging winds and hail possible. Isolated storms in
the Dakotas can also bring hail and a few isolated
tornadoes. Haze and smoke from Canadian wildfires will
expand eastward, impacting the northern Plains, Midwest and
Northeast. High heat will remain in the Southwest and expand
into the southern Plains, with highs in the 100s as far
north as Kansas and Colorado.
