The Indian government has announced that discounted tomatoes will be sold through mobile vans to help ease household pressures caused by soaring tomato prices. Starting July 16, the price of tomatoes has been reduced to Rs80 per kilogram in locations such as Delhi, Noida, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Patna, Muzaffarpur, and Arrah. The discounted tomato sales will be extended to more locations depending on market prices in other cities starting from Monday. The sale is conducted by the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India and the National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India.
