Disabled man in wheelchair shot multiple times with pellet gun and mocked; detectives seek culprits 

A disabled man in a wheelchair was shot with a pellet gun and then mocked early Saturday morning in Pontiac, Michigan, and detectives are seeking the public’s help in finding the culprits.

Crime Stoppers is offering a  reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the victim is a 30-year-old Pontiac man who was shot July 15 at 12:17 a.m. while he was on the sidewalk near the intersection of Bennett Street and Baldwin Road, heading toward a gas station. The suspect was reportedly in a small, tan sedan that pulled up next to the man, and multiple shots were fired. The occupants of the car reportedly laughed and shouted at the man, and then drove away. The injured man then went home and reported the incident to the sheriff’s office.

The victim suffered multiple minor wounds when he was hit several times by the pellets, the sheriff’s office said, and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

“It is reprehensible that someone would do such a cowardly and despicable thing to an individual in a wheelchair, and they need to be held accountable,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard  stated in a news release.
