I was a Neighbours star and now my life is unrecognisable in a tiny Welsh town – I’ve even joined the local cricket team
VILLAGERS were bowled over when Aussie TV soap star Mark Little turned out for a local cricket team – in Wales.
The Joe Mangel actor – who owned golden labrador Bouncer in the cult sit-com – moved to rural Wales after quitting Neighbours‘ Ramsay Street.
Mark, 63, ditched Down Under to live in a remote farmhouse – and has grown shaggy long hair and a scruffy beard after abandoning showbusiness.
Now the former The Big Breakfast presenter lives off-grid as a farmer in countryside near Lake Vyrnwy in Powys and spends his time “finessing a magic acre in the wilderness”.
The retired Aussie TV soap star, who married his collaborator, Cath Farr looked unrecognisable in his cricket whites.
The dad-of-two stood proudly by his team at Guilsfield and Llandrinio Cricket Club outside the clubhouse.
Despite the wet and wild conditions, he rocked up for the Shropshire Cricket League Division Eight fixture against Beacon III at Guilsfield’s LHG Oval on Saturday.
Chairman David William told Powys County Times: “Mark loves his cricket so we invited him to come and join the club and we were delighted to welcome him down for a game on Saturday.
“He is a cracking fella and seemed to enjoy his afternoon, even though we only managed a few overs.”
Unfortunately stormy weather resulted in the match being cancelled after 9.5 overs.
Mark previously said: “I have been way out of the loop… We have moved HQ and have been finessing a magic acre int he wilderness.
“I have been as busy as a farmer. We are now Anarchists Of The Forest and proud to be Welsh.”
“It has been torrid avoiding Covid and fascism… but we survive… a beautiful spot just south of lake Vyrnwy,” added Mark, an increasingly vocal anti-fascism campaigner.
“It was in a state but we are making it pretty… lovely part of the world… far from the madding crowd… real.”
