Report: How Tottenham reacted internally to Hoeness comments about Kane

Bild have revealed that the Tottenham hierarchy were left very surprised that Bayern Munich’s honorary president Uli Hoeness chose to speak publicly about Harry Kane.

Hoeness claimed on Sunday that the 29-year-old will make the move to the Allianz Arena if he ‘keeps his word’ and added that Tottenham will have to eventually ‘give up’ and soften their stance (Sport 1 via Sky Sports).

Journalist Kerry Hau claimed on Monday that Hoeness’ statement was not well received by the Bayern hierarchy, with many feeling that it was ‘unfortunate and unnecessary’.

Tottenham have not officially responded to the 71-year-old’s statement but Ange Postecoglou did make an interesting comment when he was asked about the Bayern president’s words during his press conference on Monday.

The Spurs head coach said at the time: “If other clubs want to talk about our contract players, that’s more their problem than ours” (Football.London).

Bayern now nervous about Daniel Levy reaction

Bild have now explained that Daniel Levy was ‘very surprised’ that Bayern chose to make such ‘clear statements’ about Kane’s future.

It is explained that the Tottenham chairman does not want to respond in kind publicly and prefers to keep silent on the striker’s future, which is allegedly making Bayern ‘a little more nervous’.

I would be surprised if we hear any more public statements from anyone at Bayern as Hoeness would have likely been informed by the German side’s CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and other senior figures at the club to keep things under wraps until a deal is sorted out.
