San Rafael man charged with attacking Novato woman
A San Rafael man arrested in a gun theft investigation less than two months ago has been arrested again in a relationship violence case in Novato.
Novato police booked Diontae Sol Burton, 18, on Sunday on suspicion of kidnapping, burglary, battery, vandalism and other counts. Authorities allege he attacked a woman and damaged a window at a residence in the 1800 block of Novato Boulevard. His bail amount was set at $100,000.
The woman did not require immediate hospital treatment.
On Monday, the Marin County District Attorney’s Office filed misdemeanor charges of aggravate trespassing, vandalism, battery and false imprisonment. Burton remained in custody Tuesday.
Burton was arrested in late May on suspicion of possessing a Glock 34 pistol that had been reported stolen from a San Rafael residence in January. His bail amount was set at $100,000, and he was able to secure his release. Prosecutors filed a felony case against him on May 26.
