Marin DA’s office files charges in Novato homicide case
The Marin County District Attorney’s Office filed charges Tuesday in connection with a homicide in the Hamilton neighborhood.
Paul Henry Dwight, 65, is charged with murder and cruelty to an animal. Novato police booked him on suspicion of those crimes after he allegedly shot his housemate and his housemate’s dog to death Friday afternoon at their residence in the Lanham Village complex.
The housemate was Ray Allen Mays, 47. Police allege the shooting happened during a dispute over housing arrangements.
Dwight’s arraignment is pending. He is being held without a bail amount at the Marin County Jail.
