Good Morning Britain’s Martin Lewis caught in live on-air blunder as Susanna Reid is forced to take over show
GOOD Morning Britain anchor Martin Lewis was caught in an on-air mishap during the ITV breakfast show.
The Money Saving Expert, 51, fronts Good Morning Britain every Wednesday alongside anchor Susanna Reid, 52.
Today Martin was tasked with explaining the drop in the UK inflation rate and its impact for Brits.
The Consumer Price Index level of inflation decreased to 7.9% from 8.7% in May, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
Yet after a busy morning analysing facts and figures, Martin was clearly ready for breakfast.
During a weather segment where he was off-camera, he took the chance to munch an apple.
Yet unfortunately he got his timings wrong – and was seen with his mouth full live on air.
He spluttered to his co-presenter: “I’m eating an apple.
“Can you read this Susanna?”
Taking the reigns, Susanna completed the link before the programme moved on.
Meanwhile, fans celebrated Martin’s return after he recently revealed tips including how to get free holiday money.
Yet Susanna was at the heart of the drama this week when fans suggested a “feud” with her co-star Richard Madeley, 67.
She was said to be seen “rolling her eyes” at her fellow presenter.
It came as Richard interjected during a conversation with Lorraine Kelly.
A body language expert then exclusively suggested to The Sun that Susanna was “embarrassed” by Richard’s behaviour.
