Big Brother’s Lauren Harries suffers ‘life threatening’ setback amid health battle
BIG Brother star Lauren Harries has suffered a life threatening setback amid her ongoing health battle.
The 45-year-old has been hospitalised for over three and a half months now after she had emergency brain surgery in April.
Yesterday, her mum Katy updated her followers with more sad news and asked for Lauren to be in everyone’s prayers.
She wrote: “We were informed yesterday that Lauren has a life threatening spinal tear. She is having emergency surgery today, the first of two operations.
“This has meant she is in constant pain and unable to walk it could also lead to more bleeding on the brain.
“She has been through so much in her 3 1/2 months in hospital, this is her 3rd operation. She’s strong but needs your love. We are praying that they are successful and hope you do the same.”
Lauren’s fans rushed to offer her support, with one person writing: “Sending her so much love.”
A second said: “Praying that she recovers from this.”
And a third added: “Oh no poor Lauren, hoping for a positive outcome for her x.”
Following Lauren’s first op, she then ended up in intensive care after contracting infections and is now unable to walk without help.
The 2013 Big Brother legend was also placed in a coma after she suffered from seizures.
Lauren found fame as a child antiques expert who appeared on the Antiques Roadshow and Wogan.
She went on to appear on the Channel 5 series Trust Me – I’m A Beauty Therapist and then, in 2013, starred on Celebrity Big Brother.
She finished third in the competition, with Geordie Shore‘s Charlotte Crosby winning the series.
