Love Island star Belle Hassan on the lookout for beauty fans to win a huge money-can’t-buy prize
MAKE-UP expert and Love Island star Belle Hassan is on the hunt for glam beauty fans to win a major career boost.
The YouTuber has just been announced as Superdrug’s new own-brand cosmetics ambassador.
And she’s helping the high street favourite with the new campaign, Search for Studio Stars
The beauty retailer wants to discover 10 of the country’s most creative make-up artists and give them a money-can’t-buy opportunity, to gain social awareness and valuable industry experience from the expert team at Superdrug.
Professional make-up artist Belle is delighted to be fronting the campaign and working with one of her favourite stores.
She said: “Becoming the ambassador is a real pinch-me moment. Superdrug has been a staple in everyone’s life, for me since I was a kid, going into the store. To now have my face on a campaign for them, helping other people, I can’t believe it. And the products are amazing.”
The personal care industry today employs 500,000, brings in a valuable £24.5bn to the economy. The campaign is designed to encourage new talent, break down misconceptions and barriers to working in beauty and highlight the amazing opportunities a career in creative cosmetics today can bring.
TV star Belle said: “I know how hard it is to start in the make-up industry. Every time you pick your phone up and you look for inspo you are kind of discouraged as it’s all about the people that have already made it.
“It’s about learning the hustle and the search for studio stars gives you that shortcut, meeting the industry experts in Superdrug HQ – when are you ever going to get that chance? You can’t buy that experience. I wish there was something like that when I was starting out.”
The programme includes an industry immersion day at Superdrug HQ, an exclusive masterclass with Belle, a business webinar with British Beauty Council experts and the opportunity to gain valuable experience working on Superdrug’s upcoming seasonal marketing campaigns, including Halloween and Christmas.
Belle sent a message to budding make-up artists: “If you are thinking about going for Search for Studio Stars, I can imagine being in your position. You’re probably feeling that overwhelming thing of not being good enough and why should I bother.
“But you never know, it’s going to people of all different talent ranges, so don’t be scared, just go for it.
“Stop thinking what if it doesn’t happen, think what if it does happen. Just get the content up and create a creative look, let us see you shine, don’t be shy and just go for it.”
