Leeds United Still Have Positive Card In Transfer Chase Due To Family Factor
Darlow spent the second half of the last season on loan at Hull City after spending the first half of the season as a backup to Nick Pope at Newcastle.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper is expected to leave Newcastle in the summer as Bournemouth and Leeds are rivalling each other for his signature.
Leeds are keen on bringing in a new goalkeeper to Elland Road this summer and they are pushing for Darlow.
Bournemouth, who managed to survive in the Premier League last season, have also held talks with the Magpies regarding the goalkeeper and as a top flight side would be able to offer him more money.
However, it has been claimed that Darlow’s family, living close to Yorkshire, is working in Leeds’ favour to convince the 32-year-old to move to Elland Road.
Leeds, however, have yet to submit any official bid to Newcastle for the goalkeeper and the Magpies are open to letting the player depart St. James’ Park this season.
Darlow’s contract at Newcastle still has another two years to run, but he is down the pecking order at St James’ Park.
