The View mocks Trump for whining about his Sunday being ruined by Jack Smith's target letter
Speaking to the audience of a Fox town hall Tuesday, Donald Trump cried about how unfair it was that he received his target letter from the Justice Department on a Sunday. It was a detail that the co-hosts of "The View" found to be both strange and hilarious.
Acting overly dramatic with fake sadness, Whoopi Goldberg explained, "You know who went on Hannity last night and discussed how he feels about all of this?"
"He's upset!" Joy Behar knocked.
The audience and co-hosts followed with laughter.
"It bothers me," said Trump. "It bothers me for everybody in this incredible, sold-out audience, and it bothers you. I got the letter on Sunday night. Think of it. I don't think they've ever sent a letter on Sunday night. And they're in a rush because they want to — it's interference with the election. It's election interference. It's never been done like this in the history of our country and it's a disgrace."
"Sunday, Sunday," sang Goldberg to audience laughter.
Behar focused on the bizarre way that he says the word "country," saying it makes her "nauseous" because she knows what he wants to do to the country and that he doesn't care about it.
"What's interesting about these people you've talked about not even saying or admitting that anything wrong was done is because they want to do same thing," she continued. "DeSantis wants the same thing. He wants the same kind of country. I believe that he also wants to be a dictator. I believe these folks who are defending this think it an interesting prospect. I have to tell you, I never thought in my lifetime that I would see this country come as close to a dictatorship as I've seen."
Former Trump White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin cited the recent piece in The New York Times that revealed The Heritage Foundation's plan to expand the powers of the executive branch of government to put political staff in every piece of the government.
"To eliminate checks and balances!" Sara Haines cut in.
"I'm a conservative and have been conservative longer than Donald — that ain't conservative," said Griffin
