The Republican lieutenant governor's race in Mississippi has turned nasty with primary elections just under three weeks away. Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann has accused his rival state Sen. Chris McDaniel of spreading lies about his past work for a women's health clinic. McDaniel and his surrogates have claimed Hosemann provided legal services for the clinic at a time it was performing abortions. But a letter reviewed by The Associated Press shows the physician who directed the clinic said it did not start performing abortions until after Hosemann left.
