St. John’s adds Tennessee transfer Chris Ledlum

Rick Pitino’s offseason rebuild continues with force.
St. John’s on Wednesday landed a commitment from Tennessee transfer Chris Ledlum, one of the most sought-over players in the portal.
“No place like home,” he announced on social media.
The 6-foot-6 Brooklyn native originally committed to Tennessee over St. John’s and Indiana in May but reentered the portal last week after leaving Tennessee’s summer workout program.
Ledlum averaged 18.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 1.8 steals last season at Harvard while shooting 47.3-percent from the field and being named first-team All-Ivy League.
He visited St. John’s after entering the portal from Harvard.
At the time, a source close to Ledlum said Pitino’s message involved making the Red Storm “great again.”

Pitino had 12 of his 14 players at the Mets game on Tuesday night, but Iona transfers Daniss Jenkins and Quinn Slazinski were not present.
St. John’s may get creative in adding Ledlum to the roster in a non-scholarship way while enabling him to earn significant NIL income.
In related news, Quinn Slazinski, who transferred to St. John’s from Iona in April to follow Pitino, is expected to find a new home, sources said.
Fellow Iona transfer Daniss Jenkins is still in the process of grad-transferring.
