Extreme heat blamed for deaths of two Nevada hikers

OVERTON, Nevada: On the weekend, Nevada officials said two female hikers were found dead in a state park in the south of the state, which is experiencing a severe heatwave.

Nevada State Police did not release the hikers' identities or a possible cause of death.

However, the southern end of Nevada has been experiencing temperatures of some 114 degrees Fahrenheit (45 degrees Celsius.)
