The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, July 26, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Extreme heat will continue to expand and build from the
interior Southwest to the Great Plains today. Some of the
highest temperatures of the summer so far will be found over
the middle of the nation and then to parts of the Northeast
into the end of the week. On the northeastern edge of the
hot air, severe thunderstorms, some capable of producing
tornadoes, will push across the Midwest today and then to
parts of the Northeast Thursday. Spotty storms will soak
locations in the Southeast and northern New England until
this time. A few storms will also riddle the Rockies, but
many of these storms are likely to bring little rain and may
spark wildfires. Much of the Plains and West are likely to
be free of rain with a sea breeze on the Pacific coast.
