As the 'Red' alert by IMD continued for Thursday, there was widespread rainfall in the coast on Wednesday that caused loss of life and damage to property in coastal Karnaaka. However, with the reduced rain intensity, water level in the rivers in Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi dropped on Wednesday from the high levels of Monday.
